HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY
At the end of the Rosary we pray the “Hail, Holy Queen.”
6. We finish each mystery by praying one “Glory Be” on the space between the beads.
5. Pray “Hail Marys” on the next ten beads. Use your Rosary beads to help you count them.
4. The Rosary is divided into parts, called Mysteries. Each part helps us remember something from the life of Jesus, his family and his friends. We begin each Mystery by saying the “Our Father.”
3. Pray three “Hail Marys” on the three smaller beads.
When we pray the “Hail Mary,” we are honoring Mary with the words of the Angel Gabriel and Mary’s cousin Elizabeth.
Pray one “Glory Be” in the space between the beads.
When we pray the “Glory Be,” we are praising God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
2. Pray one “Our Father” on the first large bead of the Rosary.
Jesus taught his disciples to pray by teaching them the words to this prayer.
1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross. Pray the “Apostles’ Creed” as you hold the cross on your Rosary.
When we pray the “Apostles’ Creed,” we are saying the things we be- lieve about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and our Catholic faith.
The Mysteries of the Rosary
We pray the Joyful Mysteries on Monday and Saturday. The Sorrowful Mysteries are prayed on Tuesday and Friday. We say the Glorious Mysteries on Wednesday and Sunday. The Luminous Mysteries are remembered on Thursday.
