• What would he feel as Jesus tells him that he wants to eat with him at his house today? Show with your faces and bodies what Zacchaeus feels.• What does Zacchaeus do when Jesus says that? He invited Jesus to come to his house, and then they shared a meal.Have the children form groups of three or four. One child will be Jesus, another will be Zacchaeus, and the others will be the other people. Guide the dramatization, as each group of children dramatizes the story.Begin by saying, “The people heard that Jesus was coming to town. They were excited.” Have the children talk excitedly among themselves about Jesus’ coming. Have them ignore Zacchaeus. When Zacchaeus says that he will climb a tree so that he can see Jesus, have a child pretend to climb a tree. Have all the children listen as Jesus says that his Father loves each of them.Have Jesus move to the tree and call up to Zacchaeus that he wants to eat at his house today. Zacchaeus should smile, climb down the tree, and escort Jesus to his house. He can invite the other children in the group to join them. Have Zacchaeus explain to Jesus that he will give half of his money to the poor. Have Jesus respond.Conclude by having the children sit again. Share how Zacchaeus changes, and explain why he changes. Zacchaeus becomes a different person. People who know Jesus are different, too.4019 Conf-Euch_SE_ENG_L5_PRESS.indd 2Jesus Feeds a Great CrowdObjective (15 minutes)• The children will dramatize the story of Jesus multiplying ve loaves and two sh to feed more than 5,000 people.Direct the children to open to pages 2 and 3.
