Using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit
 With your group, complete one of the following exercises assigned to your group and prepare to share the results with your class.
 Select a saint or other role model whose life demonstrates the gi  of wisdom. Be ready to share this person’s story with the large group.
How can the gi  of understanding help someone cope with a di cult situa on? Brainstorm examples. Select one or two of the clearest examples to share with the large group.
Think of an everyday situa on that calls for the gi  of counsel or right judgment. Brainstorm to list the consequences of choosing good or choosing evil in this situa on. Describe the situa on and share the consequences with the large group.
What recent news stories show the gi  of for tude or courage in ac on? Share examples and pick one or two to share with the large group.
Using a concordance to the Bible and your own favorite New Testament stories,  nd parables that lead us to knowledge of our rela onship with God. Share one or two with the large group.
On your diocese’s website, research forms of community prayer that show piety or reverence. Share your  ndings with members of the large group. Compile a list of when and where teens in your area may par cipate in these forms of prayer.
Research organiza ons within your parish and diocese that defend life and promote jus ce, showing the gi  of wonder and awe in God’s presence in human life. Summarize the work of these groups and suggest ways that those in your group could become involved.
               Catholic Literacy: The Fruits of the Spirit
When we cooperate with the grace of the Holy Spirit, quali es are formed in us that help us live the life to which Jesus Christ calls us. These quali es are called the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Church tradi onally lists 12 fruits of the Holy Spirit—charity, joy, peace, pa ence, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chas ty.
