“God so loved the world…” are the first five words of this Sunday’s Gospel. This reading is a summary of the entire Gospel—the Good News of Jesus Christ. If we truly believe this message, our lives will be changed forever. And if we truly believe it, then we must share it as well.
Just why did God send his Son to save us? It’s right there in the third word: LOVE. Lovers are going to love, and that’s what God is and does—perfectly.
What a great Gospel reading for Trinity Sunday. The Blessed Trinity is our model of loving community, the model for how we should live our lives as followers of Christ. May we find our faith and ability to love stretched and strengthened within the many communities that make up our lives.
