The eastern U.S. coast is facing its first hurricane of the season. Hurricane Florence made landfall Friday morning at Category 1 strength near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, east of Wilmington but its full power is not yet clear. Florence is still a dangerous storm and is dumping excessive rainfall on wide areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and beyond, causing historic flooding. First responders and relief agencies are positioned to help. You can assist with their efforts through these organizations.
