WORCESTER, MA – The Association of Catholic Publishers hosted the annual meeting of its members in Chicago in early September.

100 participants from publishing houses, associates and individual members gathered to network, improve skills, learn about trends in the Church and publishing, and further their professional knowledge.

Over the course of the two days, the ACP hosted keynote speakers and breakout sessions, and exhibitors introduced participants to technology and assets that can help them be more effective and efficient in their work.

It’s certainly a challenging time for Catholic publishing, with the changes in the overall industry coinciding with various issues facing the church itself. But reporter Heidi Schlumpf, NCR’s national correspondent, found a positive outlook from participants, including from Therese Ratliff, publisher of Bayard Books and Devotionals, and many reasons for a hopeful future.
