On October 26, children and their families spent the afternoon at the Faith & Family Celebration hosted by Bayard and the Diocese of Worcester, MA.

Teacher and composer John Burland, national music consultant for Bayard Inc., directed the youngsters in singing worship songs based on Scripture and Church teaching. Choir members from several parishes had been practicing the music separately, and Saturday joined together to share the music with their families and Bishop McManus in the auditorium of the beautiful Tsotsis Family Academic Center at Assumption College.

The event was led by David Dziena, Pflaum Publishing Group Publisher, in coordination with the Diocese of Worcester and Assumption College. Prior to the start of the celebration in the auditorium, children and adult guests enjoyed family-based activities from The Mass Box and Bayard’s various divisions (Pflaum Publishing Group, Creative Communications, and Twenty-Third Publications) in the Tsotsis ballroom with Catechist Editor Pat Gohn. Kevin Dowd led a short presentation and discussion for parents about bullying, based on his book from Twenty-Third Publications, Teaching Kids to Respect Others.

The day ended with a Mass celebrated by Bishop McManus, assisted by Paul Covino, the Director of Campus Ministry. John Burland and the student choir, joined by members of the Assumption College music ministry, provided the music. After Mass, as our guests exited the chapel, everyone was offered a gift bag of Creative Communications products, including Living Faith Kids.
